A 47 year old man named Juhardi is believed to have been killed by a saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) while trawling for fish at the mouth of the Sembulu River. He apparently disappeared while fishing and only his jerry cans of fish and trawling net were found along the river bank (it is believed that a mark on one of the cans was from a crocodile bite). Later his torn clothing (shirt and pants) were recovered with what are claimed to be "very clearly visible bite marks." No portion of his body had been recovered after multiple days of searching but authorities have concluded that he was likely killed by a crocodile, as apparently 5 other people had been killed in the same area since the 2000's.
